Our clinical team transition plans have come together faster than we could have imagined. There will be plenty of news in the weeks ahead, but I wanted to share this with you now. Hot off the press, as they say.

We have not one, but four new doctors who will be joining our team on December 1st. I’m excited to introduce you to our new Medical Director – Dr. Renée Gauthier.

Originally from Corbeil, Dr. Gauthier completed her medical training at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine [NOSM]. She is now co-owner of the Northern Shores Medical Clinic [NSMC], where she manages her own bilingual family medicine practice.

With an unwavering commitment to medical education, she serves as an Assistant Professor at NOSM and is the Site Director for the NOSM Family Medicine Residency program in North Bay.

Dr. Gauthier holds hospital privileges at the North Bay Regional Health Centre [NBRHC], where she is a Hospitalist and Physician Lead of the Medical Assistance in Dying [MAiD] team. Beside her diverse professional responsibilities, Dr Gauthier is a devoted wife and mother. In her spare time, she recharges her batteries through creative outlets like painting and gardening, which allow her to strike a healthy work/life balance.

The other doctors making up the new team are:

  • Dr. Bailey Steele
  • Dr. Danielle Nelson
  • Dr. Kara-Anne Green-Ward

You’ll learn more about each of these talented doctors in the months ahead. They bring new perspectives, a passion for seniors, and a dedication to the community. We are pleased and honoured that they are joining us to enhance and grow our clinical programs.
